AI can potentially create 6 million new jobs by 2030 in Malaysia
Malaysia is one of the top 10 Asian countries that is leading the AI race throughout the world. It is expected to add around US$115 billion to Malaysia’s GDP by 2030.
The Government of Malaysia is developing a National AI Framework, led by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) to enable a dynamic AI ecosystem that will leverage AI technologies to create new engines of socio-economic growth and innovation in Malaysia.
The AI landscape in Malaysia presents both an opportunity and a challenge. Though the AI adoption is still at a nascent stage with only 26 percent organizations having embarked on the AI journey, AI has doubled the rate of innovation, increased employee productivity by 60 percent and boosted revenues by 38 percent across all the sectors in Malaysia.
